Wild garlic, or 'ail des ours' in French, or 'Barlauch" in German [Umlaut on a] consists of leaves and not bulbs. Used for pesto, for instance.

Edit hannahs'auntie... run out of EF space, lol. What do you mean 'is it ok to pick'? You mean legally, ecologically or ....?

Where I go to pick it is really out of the way and there are tons of it - so no problem and perfectly legal. you need to wash it well in case foxes have peed on it, but actually animals keep away because of the very pungent smell.
