Chris Jericho lashes out on CM Punk on Monday Night Raw SuperShow ? WWE News

Monday Night Raw SuperShow this week started with a quarrel between Chris Jericho and CM Punk. The show started with CM Punk coming to the stage to face Daniel Bryan. However, surprisingly Jericho?s ?Break the Walls? music hit and we saw Y2J with his shimmery jacket walking to the ring with anger and anguish in his eyes.

As soon as Jericho entered the ring, he lashed out on CM Punk. It should be noted here that these days the t-shirt Punk wears has ?The Best in the World? slogan on it, which apparently is a slogan invented and used by Chris Jericho. Probably, this is what made Y2J angry and he told Punk that it is not Punk but Y2J who is the best in the world at whatever he does. Then we saw Jericho bragging about him and his past experiences. Surely, Chris Jericho has been among the top superstars of all time for the WWE and that is what he was trying to imply here. He further said that he is special because he belongs to a dying breed of wrestlers who used to entertain people without worrying about the consequences. This is actually something we have been hearing a lot these days by Triple H, The Undertaker and Shawn Michaels. Now, Chris Jericho has joined the bandwagon.

Things kept rolling just when Punk felt it is enough and he interrupted Jericho saying that he (Punk) is better than Y2J. He further said that Y2J might be the best at what he does but Punk is the best wrestler in the world. However, unlike Jericho, Punk was being respectful. He acknowledged Chris Jericho?s achievements and told him that he indeed has been among the best but he should not brag about it. Punk further said that Jericho feels inferiority within himself and he wants to prove it to himself that he is the best. This was something that irked Y2J but he kept quiet. Punk further said that whoever wins the match at WrestleMania 28 would be the best wrestler in the world. The face-off ended with Y2J looking into Punk?s eyes just when Daniel Bryan?s music hit.

How Do I Choose The Best Personal Loan Fast?

You can get a fast personal loan using one of several different options; desired amount of your loan and your credit score will determine the options that are available to you. Many lenders also require that you are at least 18 years old and a citizen of where the loan is being sought. In addition, some lenders may require you to provide security for the loan. Guaranteed personal loans require you to provide lenders with something of value, such as real estate, diamond ring, or vehicle. Unsecured personal loans do not require you to provide collateral.

Some lenders are most common from personal loans quick loans include financial institutions, such as banks or credit unions. Pawn shops and stores also payday loans can provide you with personal loans fast. Before you decide which route to take, you should really compare private loan options offered. In addition, you should be careful when entering a loan agreement. Some lenders bury details such as high interest rates in the fine print, and you should be aware of what you are getting into before you take a loan.

Opera Mini 6.5.2 (for Android)

If you're a smartphone user on a tight bandwidth budget, you'll really like Opera Mini 6.5.2, the lighter sibling of Opera Mobile 11.5.5. (free, 3.5 stars). Designed for just about any hardware running Android 1.6 and higher, and those with limited data plans, Opera Mini requires only one-tenth the bandwidth of a traditional browser. Granted, Mini requires that you to relinquish embedded video support?Flash and HTML5?but that's not a big sacrifice for the bandwidth you end up saving.

Unobstructed Views
Both Opera Mini and Mobile set the right stage. I pair the two because, unlike Dolphin Browser Mini 7.0 (free, 3 stars), which employs a different interface than its sibling, Opera Mini 6 looks nearly identical to its full-size counterpart?an incentive to stay seated with Opera. Both Opera browsers lack the swagger of Firefox 10's (free, 3.5 stars) swipeable trays, but the clean bottom-fitted navigation bar, defined by the Opera "O," looks and performs well. The tab-sorting tray, which reveals miniaturized page views, is a visual treat. Minimalists will appreciate how Opera provides a Full Screen Mode as well as the option to individually disable both the navigation and status bars. There's even a Mobile View that compresses full-size Web pages for the mobile screen (albeit, with mixed success).

As with its kin, Mini supports text wrapping, though the feature is made more potent with the latest release's dynamic pinch-zoom: text responds to the slightest pinch. Unlike Firefox or Dolphin, though, Opera carries an old-fashioned sensibility: separate search and URL fields. I consider this a frivolous use of already limited mobile screen estate; however, I'm certain that some users appreciate the distinction. At the least, it makes choosing search engine?for example, toggling between Google and Wikipedia.com?more accessible.

Dialing Extensions
Every time you open a tab you're greeted with a fully customizable collection of your favorite websites called a Speed Dial. The feature is clever enough that it's won imitation by Safari and Chrome ("Top Sites" and "New Tab Page," respectively) and duplication by Dolphin ("Speed Dial"). Your Speed Dial comes pre-populated with some Opera favorites (e.g. Facebook), though you'll have to manually configure your sites because Opera's Speed Dial doesn't automatically populate with frequently visited sites.

In the context of alternative browsers Firefox and Dolphin, Opera's greatest drawback is its subtraction of Add-ons. While the desktop client recently gained Extensions, Opera has yet to make them available for either of its mobile browsers. On the other hand, some international users who cannot access Google's Marketplace will appreciate that Opera is the only Android browser to bundle a mobile store through which to download apps.

Donning Cufflinks
Opera offers a host of browsers: whether you're surfing on a tablet, desktop, or one of 3,000 different headsets, Opera Link synchronizes your bookmarks, but it also transports those custom Speed Dials and search engines. I would love to see Opera take the feature a step further, and, in the model of Mozilla, add history and passwords to tote.

Blog For Self Improvement: 10 Habits of Happy People

Happy people generally have the following habits that express their values and beliefs ...

1. Love Self

Be your own best friend. It sounds simple and like a "no-brainer" but learning to truly love yourself can be a challenge. It's absolutely the most essential step in being a happy person. You need to learn to enjoy your own company and to embrace everything about yourself. Like who you are on the inside. Accept your flaws. Claim the fact that you are a wonderfully flawed human! Pamper yourself.

2. Take Care of Self

As a part of loving yourself, you will take care of your body and health. Get regular medical check ups. Eat healthy and work out. Get plenty of rest. Drink lots of water. Exercise your mind by continually energizing it with interesting and exciting challenges.
When you're not feeling well - either physically or emotionally, it's hard to be happy.

3. Love Others
Love is what makes the world go around. Follow the saying "Do unto others, as you would have them do unto you". This is simply saying treat everyone with kindness, compassion and respect. Love is the basis for ALL happiness. If we love being with someone - we're happy. If we love what we are doing - we're happy.

4. Choose Friends Wisely
It's your choice with whom you associate with on a regular basis. If you don't want to become like someone, then be involved with them as little as possible. Surround yourself with happy, positive people who share your values and goals. You want comrades that will build you up and help you to accomplish your dreams and goals.

5. Dare to Dream
Dream BIG!!! Happy people know that when they dream big in every aspect of their life - that their life is set in motion to bring their dreams into reality.

6. Do What You Enjoy
Some statistics show that 80% of people dislike their jobs! No wonder there's so many unhappy people running around. We spend a great deal of our life working. Choose a career that you enjoy - the extra money of a job you detest isn't worth it. Make time to enjoy your hobbies and pursue special interests. Doing things you enjoy makes you happier and more productive.

7. Look to the Future
Happy people focus on creating the future of their dreams. They take the time to learn the skills and strategies to create the outcome they desire. Happy people set their goals, make a plan to succeed and take action. We are always happy when we are pursuing something we value.

8. Accept What they Can not Change
Happy people don't waste their thoughts or energy on situations beyond their control. They know and accept their limits as a human. This means they don't worry about the future and they don't fret over the past.

9. Are Proactive
Happy people instinctively find the area that they can influence. Once their circle of influence is found, they begin actively participating in creating the outcome they are seeking.

10. Attitude of Gratitude
Happy people have an attitude of gratitude. They constantly and consistently count their blessings. They see the glass as half full. They have the ability to find the positive side to most situations.

The free encyclopedia Travel insurance is insurance coverage that ...

Travel Guard Insurance

The absolutely free encyclopedia
Travel insurance is insurance coverage that?s intended to cover medical expenses, economic default of travel suppliers, along with other losses incurred while traveling, either inside one?s personal country, or internationally. Temporary travel insurance can commonly be arranged in the time in the booking of a trip to cover specifically the duration of that trip, or perhaps a ?multi-trip? policy can cover an unlimited quantity of trips within a set time frame. Coverage varies, and may be purchased to include greater risk items for example ?winter sports?.

Travelers home insurance
The most typical risks which can be covered by travel insurance are:

  • ?Medical/dental expenditures
  • ?Emergency evacuation/Medical Air Evacuation/repatriation of remains
  • Return of a minor youngster
  • Trip cancellation/interruption
  • Accidental death, injury or disablement benefit
  • Overseas funeral expenses
  • Delayed departure, missed connection
  • ?Lost, stolen or damaged baggage, private effects or travel documents
  • Delayed baggage (and emergency replacement of essential items)
  • Flight Connection was missed because of airline schedule
  • Travel Delays on account of weather
  • ?Medical Emergency and hospital care (Accident or Sickness)

Travelers Insurance Company
Some travel policies will also supply cover for additional expenses, despite the fact that these vary widely in between providers.
Furthermore, frequently separate insurance is often purchased for distinct costs like:

  • ?Car rental collision coverage
  • ?Pre-existing conditions (e.g. asthma, diabetes)
  • ? Sports with an element of risk (e.g. skiing, scuba diving)
  • ?Travel to high threat nations (e.g. thanks to war, all-natural disasters or acts of terrorism)
  • ?Additional AD&D coverage
  • ?Kidnap and ransom insurance coverage
  • ?3rd Party Supplier insolvency (e.g. the hotel or airline to which you made nonrefundable pre-payments has gone into administration)

Typical exclusions

  • Pre-existing medical conditions
  • ?War or terrorism ? but some plans may cover this threat, and some do cover for acts of terrorism
  • ?Injury or illness caused by alcohol or drug use

Typically, the insurers cover pregnancy related expenses, if the travel occurs within the first trimester. After that, insurance coverage varies from insurer to insurer.
Travel insurance can also provide helpful services, generally 24 hours a day, 7 days a week that can consist of concierge services and emergency travel assistance.

Mangled 'Seinfeld,' surging Santorum on late-night

By Denise Hazlick

With the latest round of primaries looming, the late-night hosts continued to focus on the Grand Old Party's slate of presidential?candidates.

On Thursday, Jon Stewart began with a look back at the previous night's debate in Arizona. He pointed out that it was the?20th debate?of the election season, noting "one more, and the debates will be able to drink legally, mostly to forget about the terrible things they?ve heard in these debates."?

First up, he played a clip of Mitt Romney basking in the glow of applause while making his opening statement, after which he mangled a line from the sitcom ?Seinfeld.??"Don?t pretend like you watch 'Seinfeld,' you big phony!" Stewart snapped.?

He then turned the focus?to how the GOP field went after newly crowned front-runner Rick Santorum with a vengeance ?-?specifically attacking his less-than-conservative voting record in the Senate. The montage of quotes ended with debate moderator John King asking Ron Paul, ?You have a new television ad labeling (Santorum) as a fake. Why?? Paul?s response: ?Because he?s a fake,? to which Santorum points to himself and says ?I?m real, Ron, I?m real.??

In response to the attacks, Santorum tried to defend his voting record with reasoned debate, a move that will turn Santorum, according to Stewart, into ?one more failed not-Romney.?

"Daily Show" senior political analyst John Oliver offered some insight into Santorum's surge,?pointing out that he?is a little too?open and honest with his conservative opinions, a move that isn't playing well with the Republican establishment and conservative pundits and won't work to his advantage in the long run.

"Republicans aren't idiots,?Jon," Oliver said. "They know America likes its conservatism cut with plenty of baking powder, because one hit of the pure stuff and you'll wake up with Eric Stoltz strangling you, having just plunged an adrenaline needle into your heart."

?

On "The Colbert Report," Stephen Colbert scored the Arizona debate as a victory for Romney. He was especially pleased with Romney's less-than-on-point response to?moderator King's question about the biggest misconception the public has about him. "You get to ask the questions you want, I get to give the answers I want," Romney said to King.

Colbert then tried that tactic himself. When asked "Why was George W. Bush wrong in his efforts to save the auto industry and why was Barack Obama wrong to continue the effort?", he answered "Lincoln," saying?that the?question he was answering was what is the capital of Nebraska.

?

Romney and Santorum weren't the only candidates getting attention on Thursday night. During Wednesday's debate, when asked to use one word to describe himself, Newt Gingrich said: "Cheerful." David Letterman had a few other words -- more precisely top 10 other ways -- to describe the former Speaker of the House, with the No. 1 way read by actor Kevin Spacey.

?

"Morning Joe" host Joe Scarborough was one of Letterman's guests on Thursday and played right into the "Late Show" host's wheelhouse with his assessment of Romney. "This entire campaign has basically been about Romney," Scarborough said. "You've got Republicans who aren't excited about him. I mean, he's a lot like Jay Leno -- he can draw a crowd but nobody really likes him."

?

In the words of Jerry Seinfeld: "When you hit that high note, say goodnight and walk off!"

Are you enjoying the late-night barbs? Do you think they are playing fair? Share your thoughts on Facebook.

(AP) ? Abdul Hameed last saw his son a year ago, being dragged away from their home by Pakistani intelligence operatives along with an Indonesian al-Qaida suspect who had been staying there. The ailing 59-year-old father now has a simple wish.

"I just want to see the face of my son before I die," said Hameed, who has been bedridden for much of the last year with multiple illnesses. "Just that. I have no enmity with anybody, any agency or any government. If you were in my position, what would you do?"

Kashif, who is a student, is among the ranks of Pakistan's "missing" ? people seized by security forces for months or years, never to be brought to trial, their families never informed of their fate. Many of the men are presumed to be suspected Islamist militants, swept up in a post-Sept. 11, 2001, crackdown supported by the United States. Some are alleged to have been killed or tortured in custody.

Pakistan's Supreme Court has now given the families a measure of hope by bringing a landmark case against the Inter-Services Intelligence agency, the country's most feared spy network, which is suspected to be behind most of the seizures. The agency, which works closely with the CIA, operates largely outside of the law.

The ISI either refuses to discuss the missing, denies capturing them, or insists they were involved in militancy.

In an unprecedented hearing this month, judges forced the ISI to bring seven ailing suspected militants to the court in Islamabad, where they were reunited with their families. It has ordered the ISI to explain on March 1 what law they were detaining the seven under.

The media, which has largely shied away from reporting about the ISI because of the power it still yields, has taken up the issue with vigor. The military and ISI have suffered a series of humiliations in the past year, including the U.S. raid in Pakistan that killed Osama bin Laden. The civilian government has also demonstrated a measure of defiance that seems to have put the generals on the defensive.

"The country and the media are saying enough is enough," said Amna Masood Janjua, who heads a human rights group campaigning on behalf of the families. "We need intelligence agencies, but they can't operate above the law." Her husband was seized in 2005, and she believes him to be held by the intelligence agencies.

Sensing a change in momentum, the relatives of about 100 of the missing have set up a camp on a road leading to the parliament, vowing to stay there until the court orders the ISI to produce them all or they are put on trial. They say the intelligence agencies already have released six people because of the pressure.

Handwritten signs around the camp make it clear that much of the anger is directed at the United States because of its close collaboration with the ISI in tracking and capturing al-Qaida suspects in the last 10 years in Pakistan, one of the terrorist group's global hubs.

Former President Pervez Musharraf, who allied Pakistan with Washington after 2001, wrote in his memoir in 2006 that Pakistani security forces had captured 689 terrorists and handed over 369 to the United States, earning the country millions of dollars in bounties.

Many of those ended up at the U.S. detention center in Guantanamo Bay, and the Red Cross has contacted the relatives of Pakistanis held at the camp.

Some of the activists believe the U.S. could be holding the suspects elsewhere around the world. The CIA, which ran a network of overseas prisons ? so-called "black sites" ? says it no longer does so. But suspicions persist that the U.S. is holding detainees at Bagram Air Field, a base it runs in neighboring Afghanistan.

Relations between the ISI and CIA has remained in place even as ties between the two countries have plummeted in the last year because of tensions over the war in Afghanistan and the bin Laden raid, officials from both countries say.

Pakistani security officials have refused to comment on the whereabouts of Kashif or what crime he is suspected of.

But they did acknowledge the arrest of the Indonesian, Umar Patek, an al-Qaida-linked militant currently on trial in Jakarta for the 2002 Bali nightclub bombings.

Hameed says that Kashif found Patek, who was traveling with his wife, on the street and gave them shelter in a spare room in his large house in Abbottabad, an army town in northern Pakistan that gained notoriety because it was the site where bin Laden was killed.

Patek says he was traveling to Afghanistan to live and fight there. The ISI presumably suspected Kashif, a 21-year-old telecommunications student, was a member of a militant network because he gave shelter to Patek.

In a telephone interview, Hameed maintained his son's innocence and appealed for help in securing his release.

"On humanitarian grounds, please find him," Hameed said. "I have heard or seen nothing since the day he was taken."

Speaking privately, military and intelligence officials say they can't release many of the men because Pakistan's court system barely functions, meaning they will be released. They also maintain that some of the missing have joined militants fighting along the border region or in Afghanistan, and have not told their families or have been killed there.

Janjua said 1,080 people had been registered as missing with her organization, but she believed the number could be much higher. In the past week alone, 50 families had registered missing men with the organization amid the publicity generated by the Supreme Court case, she said.

As well as presumed militant suspects, human rights groups also allege security agencies have detained hundreds of separatist sympathizers from Baluchistan province, and that many have been killed. In 2010, video emerged of men in military uniforms killing a group men in the northwest Swat Valley, where the army put down an Islamist insurgency that year.

The Supreme Court ruling concerns 11 suspected militants who were captured in connection with a 2007 suicide bombing against ISI personnel and a rocket attack a year later against an air force base. An anti-terrorism court ordered them to be freed in 2010, but they were picked up again from a jail near the capital of Islamabad. Four are alleged to have died in custody from ill treatment or neglect.

On the court's orders, the ISI produced seven of the suspects on Feb. 13. Two of them were too weak to walk. Another wore a urine bag, suggesting a kidney ailment. In a meeting with their families on the court premises, they complained of harsh treatment during their detention.

In a rare move, an unnamed "security official" issued a four-page statement through the state-run news agency listing the accusations against the men. The statement ? presumably released by the ISI ? alleged the 11 were "hard-core terrorists" and that "the sympathizers of terrorists have forgotten the miseries" of the families of those killed in the 2007 and 2008 attacks.

At the camp, families of the missing keep turning up, desperate for information about husbands, fathers, brothers and sons.

Fehmida Begum, a 55-year-old widow, said plainclothes security officers, one of them armed, came to her house in September 2011 and took two of her sons, one of whom was a police commando. She said she had not heard of them since.

She denied her sons were associated with militants, but all were members of Tableeghi Jamaat, a conservative Islamic missionary organization, some of whose members have gone on to violence. "Their sin is that they are religious," she said. "They have beards. They say their prayers."

Like other relatives, she said all she wanted was for her sons to face trial.

"If my sons have committed a crime, hang them," she said.

Residential housing crisis may become goldmine for investors ...

As more and more families are either voluntarily leaving their Florida homes or are being forced out by foreclosure, some Florida investors are seeing the housing crisis as an opportunity. As the tide goes out on home ownership, the tide comes in on home rental.

Residential real estate investors are able to purchase properties to renovate and turn into rental homes, rather than 'flipping' the property as was more common during the housing boom at what many consider bargain prices. Investment properties that become rentals are offering a better return on their money for some commercial owners than even banks or the stock market.

"The banks are paying 0 percent interest," lamented one investor. But he's made offers on residential real estate where he projects, "[T]he rent stream will return 25 percent on my investment."

The good news for homeowners is that these real estate investors are helping to unclog the real estate market. Despite the bargain prices that many people report finding on these investment properties, an occupied rental property may make a much better neighbor than a vacant home that is no longer maintained.

In terms of investment property, one investor in the Tampa Bay area considers this to be, "[T]he most intense buyer's market that I have seen in 35 years of owning real estate."

But, investing in Florida real estate with the intention of managing rental property is not for everyone. Few banks will offer financing to even what might be considered the most qualified buyers. The investors who can truly make it in this market are those who can come to the table with cash and are willing to pay over the asking price on a property.

You Can Get A Large Unsecured Loan Even With Poor Credit ...

Face it ? times are tough. The numbers are rising when it comes to the regular citizen with cash-flow problems. And Uncle Sam may do bailouts, but he does not do bailouts for the average Joe, especially if it is related to credit card debt or other personal debt. If you have financial woes, but you have poor credit, you might want to consider getting a large unsecured loan to ease the financial stress. unsecured loans for bad credit

Perhaps you are in a financial bind, but it is deep enough that a $400 cash advance is not going to really help. You will probably need to approach a lender other than a bank or credit union, especially if you have bad credit. Another good thing about a large unsecured loan is that you do not have to put up any collateral ? it is unsecured. So, you do not have to worry about signing over your house or your car. unsecured loans

Finding a non-traditional lender is relatively easy. You need to ensure that they are accredited. Your first stop should probably be a visit to the website of the Better Business Bureau (BBB). They will have directories of businesses willing to execute large unsecured loans for folks with bad credit. In those listings you will find contact information, customer feedback, and even a rating system so you can check on the past performance of each.

From these listings you should gather about five candidates who look like they may be a good choice. Using the contact info, make some telephone inquiries. when you speak with the representative, you should discuss your financial circumstances and the rep should be able to offer financial solutions. If any representative asks for consultation fees or other up-front fees, do not use that lender.

Many non-traditional lenders are willing to offer large unsecured loans, but they do ask questions and will expect truthful answers. Once you have settled on a non-traditional lender that feels comfortable to you, get ready to divulge the depth and the reason of your financial circumstances. When it comes to salary and business returns or credit rating scores, be upfront. You will also need to display a plan for how you intend to pay down this loan. Be careful, some lenders will play you along, not really willing to give you a loan of the sum you need, but something smaller. You have a lifestyle, you have financial goals, maker sure the loan fits in with both. You need comfortable rates, terms, conditions, and monthly payments that fit. Treat it like ordering pastries at a famous New York deli. You need to pick and choose everything that looks good, but be sure you are getting a darn good price. Remember though, large unsecured loans have higher interest rates than loans backed by collateral. And since poor credit offers a risk to the lender, understand that you will not be getting the best interest rates. But you can still find a lender who is reasonable enough.

Traditional banks and credit unions have tightened their credit policies and do not usually take on large unsecured loans, especially for those with bad credit. In these financially troubled times, only non-traditional lenders are ready to meet your heavy financial loan requirement. If you work this properly, paying the large unsecured loan back as specified in the contract, you are a step closer to a better credit rating.

Spicy tips to Make your Business Presentations Effective ? Submit ...

Presentations are a business staple. In fact, they are second only to email as the most commonly used business tool, and an effective business presentation separates the extraordinary from the average. So what?s the difference between a standard presentation and a great one? And how do you go from a static one-way presentation that numbs your audience to something truly memorable? The secrets are simple.

Foundation for Effective Business Presentations

No need to start from scratch or reinvent the wheel when you can build on what already works. Ready-to-use, customizable presentations and themes help spark inspiration and save precious time.

Clear the Clutter

Beware the temptation of flamboyance and excess. Content is king, and clarity is key. All too often presentations are a seemingly endless cascade of text and bullet points. Instead, give your audience manageable 140-character nuggets that will be remembered and discussed long after the presentation wraps up. Create meaningful messages that inspire (rather than tire) audiences, leaving them fully informed but eager to learn more.

Strike up a Conversation

Presentations are too often speech-like rather than conversational- filled with talking heads and mundane slides that the audience has to work to figure out. Effective business presentations appeal to the senses, generate conversation, and fuel involvement.

Quick Tips to actively encourage participation and interaction:

. Incorporate multimedia elements, such as YouTube clips or voice-overs, to stimulate discussion
. Include polling questions to gather real-time feedback.
. Use social media to get your guests chatting about live or webcast presentations.
. Offer tweetable, compact sound-bites for key takeaways that guests can share.
. Include a #hashtag to encourage real-time, active discussion.
. Include a twitter feed directly into your presentation so guests can follow the conversation and contribute.

Keep it Spicy

Punch up dull presentation slides with interactive elements that will engage your audience. You have access to a virtual buffet of online presentation makers that allow you to easily include assets such as video, high-definition photos, audio, polls, real-time feeds, and more.

It Takes a Village

Why fly solo when collaboration can help you take your presentation from good to great. Use presentation programs that allow you to share and gather feedback in real time from colleagues, team members, key stakeholders, prospects, or customers. The interaction gets others invested and creates a discussion that can move you to the next stage- whether it?s closing a deal or creating deeper engagement with customers.

Feast The Eyes

Appealing to visual senses adds to the experience of effective business presentations. A slide accompanied by a relevant image is sometimes all that?s needed to make a powerful statement.

Quick tips for gaining the visual edge:

. Choose images that clearly convey key points and messages.
. Use images of people to connect emotionally with your audience and draw them into the presentation.
. Extend the visual impact with your choice of background and font type.
. Choose a single color palette, and use it consistently throughout your presentation.
. Enhance a plain title with a different font.

But do be careful not to go overboard with too many visual elements. There is such thing as too much of a good thing!

Go Deep or Go Home

Are you embracing the power of reviews? Guest feedback provides real-time information on what is working well and what needs to be addressed, so be sure to include interactive elements that allow them to voice their opinions and offer feedback. Deep analytics can provide unprecedented insight into what your guests liked, and what they sent back. The more you know.

Whether you are preparing presentations for a conference or for use as a sales tool, don?t settle for standard. Keep a few simple secrets on hand and you can prepare like a pro and transform your presentations from ordinary to great.

Joliet Junior College Automotive Center Awarded LEED? Silver ...

Darien, Ill. (February 20, 2012)?Wight & Company, a leader in integrated architecture, engineering and construction solutions, is the architect for the state-of-the-

art automotive technology center and learning facility at Joliet Junior College, which was recently LEED? (Leadership in Energy and Environmental Design) Silver certified by the U.S. Green Building Council (USGBC).

The project, which includes a commercial automobile service shop area with 16 service bays, four new classrooms, a dedicated customer service area and new parts and equipment storage rooms, is part of an ambitious effort to accommodate an increase in enrollment and provide a technologically-advanced learning environment for students.

?The new Joliet Junior College Automotive Technology Center doubles the capacity of the Automotive Technology program and creates a superior learning environment for students,? said Ed Faron, project manager for Wight & Company. ?Automotive Technology Center students now have computers at each vehicle service bay for convenient access to instructional literature, repair guidelines and automotive part diagrams. Fourteen inground and two floor-mounted vehicle lifts provide the highest quality facility for auto and truck repair.?

Wight & Company, who designed and built the first LEED-certified school in Illinois, developed the expansion to both facilitate learning and be environmentally friendly. ?We strive to incorporate sustainability in everything we do. With this project, we are happy to have delivered an end product that meets the educational needs of Joliet Junior College students while also achieving environmental responsibility,??said Lois Vitt Sale, chief sustainability officer at Wight.

?Green? elements of the expansion include:

?? ?Skylights and clerestory to utilize natural light
?? ?LED lighting fixtures on occupancy sensors
?? ?Shop and classrooms served by separate high-efficiency HVAC equipment
?? ?Light-colored coating on asphalt parking lot and a white single-ply roof to reduce urban heat island effect
?? ?Controlled rainwater discharge into sewer system
?? ?Native landscaping
?? ?Recycling more than 75 percent of the project?s construction waste

Each of the four new classrooms are focused on automotive instruction and are outfitted with projectors and screens for instructor presentations. At the same time, the addition of 17,000 square feet enables Joliet Junior College to accommodate even more students to satisfy the increased demand in automotive courses.

?Sustainable stewardship is a way of life in our company, and we work with our clients to promote environmental awareness and responsibility,??continued Vitt Sale. ?Sustainability is not a one-size-fits-all recipe. For each project, we help our clients identify their specific environmental pressures and priorities, and offer sustainable strategies that deliver solutions that reflect their goals, whether it be creating a high-performance learning environment or enhancing operating efficiencies.?

The expansion forms the east edge of a newly configured and relandscaped entry plaza at the main entrance of Building D. The new commercial auto shop, a vehicle maintenance shop that serves the students and faculty of Joliet Junior College, frees up the former auto shop space so it can be used as an extension of the classroom.

About Wight & Company

Guards held after 44 die in Mexico prison clashes

Daniel Becerril / Reuters

Inmates' relatives wait for news outside Apodaca prison in Monterrey, Mexico, which is about 140 miles from the border with Texas.

By msnbc.com and news services

MEXICO CITY -- Around 44 prisoners died in battles between rival drug cartels in a prison in northern Mexico on Sunday, with victims being beaten, stabbed and stoned to death, according to officials.

"We can't rule out the possibility that some prisoners escaped, which also could be a motive if the fight started as a distraction," Reuters quoted Jorge Domene, security spokesman for the Nuevo Leon state government, as saying.

Inmates at the prison in Monterrey, about 140 miles from the border with Texas, include members of Mexico's Gulf cartel as well as the feared Zetas cartel.

The outburst in Apodaca prison would be the second-largest "mass homicide" in the state of Nuevo Leon's history, after an attack on a casino left 52 dead in August, according to Mexican magazine Proceso (Link in Spanish). In May, 14 inmates were killed and burned in Apodaca's psychiatric area, according to the magazine.

Authorities said clashes erupted at around 2 a.m. local time (3 a.m. ET), after which a fire broke out.? Unidentified sources told Proceso that gunfire was also heard. However, Domene told Milenion magazine that no?firearms were used during the violence (Link in Spanish). Officials had regained control of Apodaca by 9 a.m. (10 a.m. ET)

Mexico's 'super labs' send meth pouring across border

Corrupt prison guards may have been involved in facilitating the disturbance at the prison and authorities were holding all the prison officials for questioning, Domene said late Sunday.

In recent years there have been a number of prison breaks in Mexico, sometimes with the aid of complicit guards.

Sunday's violence was the second deadly incident at a Latin American prison within a week. Desperate overcrowding in Honduras' prisons last week led to a massive fire in a run-down jail that killed more than 350 inmates.

NBC's Kerry Sanders reports that more than 350 people are dead after an enraged inmate set the Comayagua prison in Honduras on fire. Doctors say the survivors suffered burns over 65 percent of their body.

The prison in Monterrey is, like many in Mexico, overcrowded as a result of the five-year-old drug war President Felipe Calderon has been waging against cartels.

The prison held about 80 percent more prisoners than it was designed for, Domene said, adding many of the inmates were charged with federal crimes related to drug trafficking.

In Mexico, where prisoners held on federal drug charges are mixed with common criminals, the system is troubled by violence tied to the powerful drug cartels battling for control of smuggling routes along the U.S.-Mexican border.

Officials: Honduras prison fire kills hundreds

Collusion between guards and prisoners is also a long-standing problem. In the most notorious example, collusion led to the escape of Mexico's most wanted man, Joaquin "Shorty" Guzman, from jail in a laundry basket in 2001.

In 2010, more than 140 inmates escaped through the front gate of a prison in Tamaulipas state, helped by prison officials.

About 50,000 people have been killed in Mexico in the past five years since Calderon launched an army-backed offensive against drug gangs shortly after taking office.

Mexico leader's message to US: 'No more weapons!'

Drug violence hit Monterrey, the wealthy capital of Nuevo Leon state, when the Zetas split off from their former employers the Gulf cartel and began fighting for control of drug trafficking routes and other criminal rackets in the city.

White ink tattoos | Submit Article for Free

Are you aware that its possible to get white ink tattoos? Most people are getting white tattoos these days because they have a distinctive look. Even though these tattoos tend to be unique, it is very important to do an intensive research before you decide to get this type of tattoo because its easy for something to go extremely wrong. Read on to find out if a white ink tattoo is right for you.
First, lets take a brief look at the procedure involved with getting a tattoo.
A tattoo artist will use a needle that is very sharp to push ink deep in to the skin layers to make the look that the client requires. Next, the tattoo might look distorted or puffy throughout the healing period. When someone receives a white ink design, the actual pattern usually appear a little lighter than the original skin tone and look like a brand or scar. Even though a skin image might need some touching upward, once its cared for correctly the design can last for a lifetime.

White ink tattoos
Most tattoo artists recommend white tattoos for individuals with light skin. They also state that its better to put this kind of tattoo on areas which are not exposed to the suns rays on a regular basis. Depending on the white printer ink that is used, too much sun exposure could cause the tattoo to diminish, disappear totally or develop a weird shade of yellow-colored or brown. If you have darkish skin, its best to seek advice from a tattoo artist to understand about the options available for you to get a white ink tattoo.
Bear in mind that you should always to a thorough research to choose a professional tattoo artist. You can check with past clients and look at pictures of previous work.
White ink tattoos are extremely subtle, so it is much easier to conceal this design when compared to a dark or colorful pattern. If youre interested in getting a cutting or even branding look, you can opt for a white ink tattoo as this will create more detail. The drawback with this kind of skin image pattern is that it will diminish and become discolored easily.

If you choose to get one of the white ink tattoos, you should do your quest to know what to expect during as well as after the procedure. At first, the white tattoo will have the distorted and puffy appear that is similar to a burn mark. Besides that, it might have a very unusual yellowish color because the lymph would flood to the spot. However, once you follow the directions to look after the tattoo your skin may settle down in a couple of weeks and you will get an unique white style.

Whitney Houston's voice soars at hometown funeral

(AP) ? The best voices of a generation all paid tribute to her. But in the end, the most powerful voice at Whitney Houston's funeral was her own.

The first notes of "I Will Always Love You," at the end of a 3 ?-hour remembrance of the pop superstar, played Saturday as her casket left the hometown church where she first wowed a congregation.

Her mother, gospel singer Cissy Houston, walked right behind her, sobbing, "My baby."

Houston's voice ? "you wait for a voice like that for a lifetime," mentor Clive Davis said ? moved her daughter, mourners like Oprah Winfrey and a packed church to tears after the biggest names in gospel and pop music sang about God, love, lost angels and moving on.

Stevie Wonder rewrote lyrics to "Ribbon in the Sky" for Houston ? "you will always be a ribbon in the sky," he sang. So did gospel's the Rev. Kim Burrell for "A Change is Gonna Come," which cousin Dionne Warwick said was Houston's favorite song of all time. R. Kelly brought the New Hope Baptist Church to its feet with a stirring version of "I Look to You," the title of Houston's final studio album.

Wonder and Alicia Keys may have been the most famous singers offering tributes, in a congregation of mourners that included Winfrey, Mariah Carey, Kevin Costner and Chaka Khan. But the church choir and performances from the Winans family, the gospel star Rev. Donnie McClurkin and Burrell were equally powerful.

Houston's 18-year-old daughter, Bobbi Kristina, sobbed and embraced Houston's close friend, singer Ray J at length, as her mother's voice began to drift through the church. His sister, singer Brandy, put her arm around him throughout the service.

Clapping hands, swaying and singing along with the choir to gospel hymns, the biggest names in entertainment joined Houston's family and fans in the New Jersey city where she was first born and found her in voice in church.

Costner, Houston's co-star in "The Bodyguard", which spawned her greatest hit, imagined a young Houston using her winning smile to get out of trouble. He also remembered the megastar as uncertain of her own fame, who "still wondered, 'Am I good enough? Am I pretty enough? Will they like me?'"

"It was the burden that made her great and the part that caused her to stumble in the end," Costner said.

Filmmaker Tyler Perry praised Houston's "grace that kept on carrying her all the way through, the same grace led her all the way to the top of the charts. She sang for presidents."

Warwick presided over the funeral, introducing speakers and singers and offering short insights about her cousin; she joked that Houston's Super Bowl performance of "The Star Spangled Banner" became almost as big as the telephone book.

Houston's mother was helped by two people on either side of her as she walked in and sat with her granddaughter and other family to begin the service.

Houston's ex-husband, Bobby Brown, briefly appeared at her funeral, walking to the casket, touching it and walking out. He later said in a statement that he and his children were asked repeatedly to move and he left rather than risk creating a scene. Close family friend Aretha Franklin, whom Houston lovingly called "Aunt Ree," had been expected to sing at the service, but said early Saturday she was too ill to attend. Franklin said in an email to The Associated Press that she had been up most of the night with leg spasms and sent best wishes to the family

Singers Jennifer Hudson, who sang "I Will Always Love You" a night after Houston's death in a Grammy tribute, mourned Houston along with Monica, Brandy, Jordin Sparks ? representing a generation of big-voiced young singers who grew up emulating the star of the '80s and '90s.

As the funeral began, mourners fell quiet as three police officers escorted Houston's casket, draped with white roses and purple lilies. White-robed choir members began to fill the pews on the podium. As the band played softly, the choir sang in a hushed voice, "Whitney, Whitney, Whitney."

A program featuring a picture of Houston looking skyward read "Celebrating the life of Whitney Elizabeth Houston, a child of God." Pictures of Houston as a baby, with her mother and daughter filled the program.

"I never told you that when you were born, the Holy Spirit told me that you would not be with me long," Cissy Houston wrote her daughter in a letter published in the program. "And I thank God for the beautiful flower he allowed me to raise and cherish for 48 years."

"Rest, my baby girl in peace," the letter ends, signed "mommie."

The service marks one week after Houston, one of music's all-time biggest stars, was found dead in the bathtub of a Beverly Hills hotel the night before the Grammys. A cause of death has yet to be determined.

To the world, Houston was the pop queen with the perfect voice, the dazzling diva with regal beauty, a troubled superstar suffering from addiction and, finally, another victim of the dark side of fame.

To her family and friends, she was just "Nippy." A nickname given to Houston when she was a child, it stuck with her through adulthood and, later, would become the name of one of her companies. To them, she was a sister, a friend, a daughter, and a mother.

"She always had the edge," the Rev. Jesse Jackson said outside church Saturday. "You can tell when some kids have what we call a special anointing. Aretha had that when she was 14. ... Whitney cultivated that and took it to a very high level."

A few fans gathered hours before the service as close as they could get to the church, some from as far away as Washington, D.C., and Miami. Bobby Brooks said he came from Washington "just to be among the rest of the fans."

"Just to celebrate her life, not just her death," said Brooks, "just to sing and dance with the people that love her."

Others were more entrepreneurial, setting up card tables to sell silk-screened T-shirts with Houston's image and her CDs. But only the invited would get close to the church; streets were closed to the public for blocks in every direction. But their presence was felt around the church, with a huge shrine of heart-shaped balloons and personal messages that covered the street corner around the church entrance.

Houston's death marked the final chapter for the superstar whose fall from grace while shocking was years in the making. Houston had her first No. 1 hit by the time she was 22, followed by a flurry of No. 1 songs and multi-platinum records.

Over her career, she sold more than 50 million records in the United States alone. Her voice, an ideal blend of power, grace and beauty, made classics out of songs like "Saving All My Love For You," ''I Will Always Love You," ''The Greatest Love of All" and "I'm Every Woman." Her six Grammys were only a fraction of her many awards.

But amid the fame, a turbulent marriage to Brown and her addiction to drugs tarnished her image. She became a woman falling apart in front of the world.

Her last album, "I Look To You," debuted on the top of the charts when it was released in 2009 with strong sales, but didn't have the staying power of her previous records. A tour the next year was doomed by cancellations because of illness and sub-par performances.

Houston is to be buried Sunday next to her father, John Houston, in nearby Westfield, N.J.

How To Revive A Stalled Job Search With High-Payoff Activities ...

I frequently talk to potential clients who tell me they have been conducting a job search for X months without any success, or that they have sent out X number of resumes with virtually no response. When I press for more details, almost invariably, I hear stories about resumes posted in online resume databases and resumes sent in response to ads found on online job boards.

What is wrong with these job search techniques? Well?nothing is fundamentally wrong with them. In fact, they play an important part ? a small part ? in most well-constructed job search plans. However, these are extremely low-payoff job search activities, and if these are the only techniques you are using, the chances are far greater than not that your job search will generate disappointing and slow results.

If you are unhappy with the results of your job search, it is time that you took an objective look at your job search techniques. Are you spending too much of your precious time and energy on low-payoff job search activities while you ignore those that will produce the positive results that you want and deserve?

While the more effective job search activities ? such as networking -usually require people to step out of their comfort zones, the returns generated by your investment of your time and energy will almost always be worth it.

So, if you find yourself stuck in a stalled, ineffective search for your next job, here are some high-impact tips that are almost certain to have a high-payoff on your effort through a faster, more successful job search.

1) Take a hard look at your resume. Like it or not, your resume is your first introduction to most employers, and your only chance to make a good first impression. Effective resumes are highly focused marketing pieces that are strategically written and designed to sell YOU as THE best solution to a potential employer?s needs and problems. Your resume should be written to convey and illustrate your unique value proposition, with succinct ?stories? that differentiate you from your competitors in the job market. Does your resume accomplish these goals? Is it focused effectively? Does it accurately present you in the way that you wish to be presented? If not, it is time to rewrite. If you need help, resume writing is our specialty at Distinctive Career Services.

2) Now, take a hard look at your methods. Do the methods you are using in your job search convey professionalism at every step? Is your approach courteous and does it illustrate an understanding of common business protocol? For example, do you always send at least a brief letter of introduction when you send a new contact your resume? I can?t tell you how many times a prospective client tells me he isn?t getting calls on his resume, and when I quiz him he will tell me that he has been sending his resume as an attachment to emails, and then admits that he has not been including an introductory note. In this day and age, when everyone is concerned about viruses and spam, do you honestly believe that a recipient will open an attachment that arrives with a blank email? Of course not! Or?Does the message on your answering machine make you sound like a polished professional or a party animal? Is your email user name a professional-sounding one or a cutesy one? You have tough competition in the job market. Details matter! Courtesy and business protocol matters! Everything you do in your job search should convey an impeccably professional image. My best advice: Apply some basic common sense and remember your manners. Do these two things and you will be fine.

3) Ramp up your networking efforts. Of all of the possible job search methods, networking is the most effective by far, and yet it is the method that the fewest people use. I know that you don?t want to hear this, but no matter how uncomfortable it might be for you, networking is absolutely crucial and is the fastest way to your next position. Remember that when you are networking you are not asking people if they know of an opening or to give you a job, you are just asking for referrals or advice. Would you be upset if someone you knew contacted you to inform you of their job search and asked if you might be able to offer any advice or point her in the right direction? Of course you wouldn?t. In fact, you might even be flattered. This is the same reaction that your personal and professional networking contacts will have. If you don?t have frequent face-to-face contact with your network, the quickest way to jumpstart your search using networking is to send your resume and a brief letter to every single one of your contacts, and then follow up with a phone call a few days later. In most cases, people will be more than happy to help you out. But whether they are able to help you immediately or not, follow up with a brief handwritten thank you card. This is a gesture that will make a lasting positive impression.

4) Do your research; don?t just blindly and indiscriminately send out your resume. Research the geographic and industry areas that interest you and identify the companies and opportunities that seem most promising and intriguing to you. Now research some more. With the vast quantities of information available on the Internet, you really have no excuse not to research thoroughly. Identify the hiring decision-makers and learn all you can about them and their company, their competitors, their challenges, and their future potential. This is a great time to call on your professional network. Who do you know who knows someone who knows some else at the company you are interested in? Once you have an ?in? through a referral, it is time to make sure you are absolutely clear on your value proposition. In what way do you feel you could add value to the company? How would hiring you be beneficial? What is the return on investment that the company could expect if they hired you? Once you have the answers to these questions clear in your mind, it is time to approach the targets.

5) Consider a targeted e-mailing of your resume to headhunter/recruiter firms. But don?t just use one of the cheap broadcast services that send your resume out to some unspecified list of 1000s of supposed recruiters. If you are going to do this, use a high-quality service that uses an up-to-date database of recruiting firms that they can break down and segment based on the firms? specialties. This is one of the services that we offer to our resume writing clients at Distinctive Career Services. Approaching the distribution of your resume to headhunter firms in this way ensures that the recipients of your resume are individuals who have a sincere interest in learning about you and your credentials. They will try to match you to their current searches, and if you are a fit, you will get a phone call right then. Otherwise, they tend to database your resume to search in relation to future recruitment assignments. Of all the suggestions, this is the most passive and the easiest for you to implement with the least amount of work. But, passive or not, if you are in a profession that is among those often handled by recruiting firms, you should definitely make this a part of your overall job search strategy.

Finally, I can?t stress enough how important it is for you to follow up. Be assertive and approach your job search as if it is a job in itself. Schedule your activities, keep track of the contacts you have made and the resumes you have sent, and follow up regularly and consistently.

Yes, there is no doubt that job searching can be a highly stressful time. But you do have choices about how you will spend your limited time and those choices can have a profound impact on the success of your search. Choose to focus on the high payoff activities and you will find yourself back to work, in the job you want, much faster than you thought was possible.
