Corporate Sales Training Teaching Your Employees How to Learn ...

The one thing that no one understands when it comes to corporate team building is that most companies expect employees to retain certain things about the company but they do not teach them how to do this. Plus when teaching the employees they are utilizing methods that have not worked for years. If they had, there would not be the need to repeat them over and over.

Have you ever noticed that most of these meetings are referred to as training? What is wrong with this picture? Training involves showing someone how to repeat something that you are doing. Do you really want every sales person you have doing the same thing you are doing? Of course not ? the sales person has to know how to act on their own in order to communicate effectively with prospective clients.

The corporate team building that involves showing team members how they can generate sales and improve their sales strategy. If taught in the right manner, the sales may increase so much that you will have one of these meetings every time you can possibly get the budget to do so.

Your sales staff needs this type of training if you expect them to make the sales. When implementing these corporate team building meetings, get rid of the old way of doing things and invest in the future of your company by using new methods. The difference will be like night and day. Your company has been in the dark long enough.

Do you know that about 30 billion dollars is spent yearly on training programs? This seems to be an inordinate amount of money for no more than what the employees seem to be learning. When the training sessions are over what exactly have the employees learned? Do they know any more about the company than they previously knew? Do they have sure fire methods up their sleeve to generate more sales? Or are they coming away from the meetings no better off than they were before?

This is not a problem that only exists at certain levels in the corporate world. There are many levels that the manager or companies are concerned with needing corporate team building training. However, the training that is being offered at any level is the same. It may be a more advanced type but it is basically the same training that the sales staff is receiving. When the training is over the employees are coming away with the thought in their head that at least maybe that is over for another period of time. The ultimate goal would be to have them take away from the meetings with something they can apply in their everyday routine and looking forward to the next meeting.

So how do we know what will work and what is just a waste of time? If for once, the employees were consulted when it comes to what they think would be the best method of learning there may some changes made that would be beneficial. The so called ?experts? come in and decide how to change the criteria that is being taught at the corporate team building meetings. Then in a year or two they come back and do it again. If the answer is in upgrading the courses being used for training why haven?t they worked up to this point? Maybe this is a question to ponder and ask at your next corporate team building event.
