If anything, a small business entrepreneur is as important as a big business tycoon, given that both of them contribute to the wellbeing of an economy. It does not necessarily apply that a big business is more respectable and impressive as it may also be hiding a few complications up its sleeve. Most businessmen today prefer to have small enterprises as it's far less expensive to manage. Moreover, it accumulates less responsibilities and liabilities as that of a corporation and makes up for a more reliable source of income.

The number of small business entrepreneurs at present abound, both in the real and online market. A lot of them explore the opportunity given that there have been numerous hopefuls like them before that had conquered the field.

1. Jeff Bezos
This Princeton alumni, who graduated with a degree in computer science in engineering, co founded Amazon.com on 1994 after working as system administrator for Wallstreet and Fitel. What is now known as a billion dollar multinational electronic commerce company actually started out as a flailing business. And because it had numerous detractors, it even came to a point wherein the company's stocks dropped from $100 to $6. But Jeff did not stop believing and eventually grew his company from the ground. Now he holds a spot in Forbe's wealthiest businessmen.

2. Mark Cuban
Many of you may know him as the passionate owner of the Dallas Mavericks but this 52 year old mogul actually started out when he was twelve years old, selling trash bags. He continued his entrepreneurial streak with small ventures at school and at home. He graduated with a degree in business and eventually started his own computer consulting company online, MicroSolutions. After gaining success, he launched another company, Broadcast.com, which earned him $100 million dollars in revenue. Though he sold this venture, he was able to start on another lucrative business which was not anymore small in gait - the Dallas Mavericks.

3. Richard Branson
Flamboyant, adventurous and relentless - these are just a few words to describe this iconic small business entrepreneur. He was not able to attend graduate school but he founded some of the most lucrative businesses in the face of the planet. Richard started out with discount records mail order venture with his friend Nik Powell. He then established a small record store in London and began recording artists like Genesis, The Sex Pistols and The Rolling Stones. From the success of a record label, Virgin became part of several products and is now known as one of the most recognizable brands in the world.

4. John Ilhan
This Turkish immigrant owns one of the largest private mobile phone companies in Australia. He started with a small business entrepreneur with a mobile phone store in Brunswick, Melbourne. Now because he applied the most outrageous phone deals and marketing methods, his business took off despite numerous competitors. Crazy Johns eventually grew to a chain of 120 stores, with a staff of 600 people. Today, he has more than $300 million and was named one of the richest men in Australia.
